Hi, How do I enter the value in a cell say B4 into a formula as a constant so it doesn't change when I copy it down the column? What's the correct formula for F6 so I can copy it down and keep B4 fixed? We have a number of Excel users in our office who cannot copy and paste between Excel workbooks. They can copy and paste between worksheets. This is true whether you right-click the mouse, go to the edit menu, or use control keys. This occurs with any data type and the most simple workbooks. I have seen some suggestions here but none have worked for this particular problem. I have reset the menus and renamed the. You can open the clipboard and the paste will work, but there is no paste special option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a co-worker's file that he is having trouble with. He is using Excel 2000 SP3. I am trying this on his workstation and mine. Mine has Office 2010, so I think there might be an issue with the file itself. Also, not just copy and paste. I can also just click the top cell after filling in the formula and then drag the bottom right of the cell downward and it will do the same of filling in the correct formula, but have the incorrect value. I know that I could get him to just click save each time before really looking at the results, but that is just a band aid to the problem. Any ideas how to fix this? I am trying to write a formula that uses both an if statement and a vlookup statement. It's for a house cleaning price list, with two sets of prices. I want the formula to say if the value in E7 is R, i want to lookup the value for the house in the second column. If the value in the cell is anything else, i want to lookup the value for the house in the third column. Is it possible to nest a vlookup in an if statement? I have a spreadsheet that when I copy the formula, it copies correctly changes the cells it should subtract , however, the result stays the same. It matches the formula I copied it from, even though the cells to calculate are now different. I even did a paste special and said only formula, but still, same result. If I actually type in the formula, it works fine, but I have a lot I need to copy and paste. Is there a way I can fix this? Thanks, Hello from sunny Madrid I have created a complex formula to help me calculating Golf handicaps for players. The formula is in the first cell and I want to drag the formula across to the right to cover the 18 holes. But ALL the values change and I want some to change and some to stay constant. How do I tell excel to drag the formula across but keep certain parts of the formula the same.. Many thanks for your help Ole Hello Everybody, I am hoping for some assistance. Here is what I have.... I am trying to get counts of certain values. This is in the same workbook but different sheets. On sheet 1 is where my formula lies. If there isn't skip it and don't count it, if there is a value count it if it falls within a given range. An example of the formula is below... Hi, Im working with a large data spreadsheet that has Yes and No answers in different columns. There are blanks within the selection too. I need to calculate only the Yes. I have tried using the filters in the Pivot Table field list and they are not working. So now i'm trying to add a COUNTIF formula in the Calculated Fields section. I have search the whole forum and I haven't found an answer that can help me. How do i do this? Thanks I am trying to do a very simple copy and paste of a simple formula in Excel 2007 and nothing seems to be working. Excel will not let me copy and paste a formula and will only paste the value into to workbook. I cannot imagine a simpler copy and paste and no matter what I do I can't make this work. All cells are formatted as general. It seems that all copy and pasting of formulas in my excel has been disabled. If I open any spreadsheet on my computer, I can't copy and paste formulas, but do the exact same thing on the exact same spreadsheet on any other computer and it works no problem. Hi Everyone, I have searched online and in help but can't seem to find the best solution... I have values like 00904BB303D6 that need to become: 00:90:4B:B3:03:D6 the value is always 12 digits, and the : needs to appear every two digits. Is there a formula that can easily do this for me? Your suggestions are greatly appreciated! I have cells in a column, some colored yellow, some not. I am trying to use the SUMIF function to sum only the cells in the range that are colored. Can this be done? I don't know how to get Excel to recognize if a cell is colored in a formula. Also, column B might have a duplicates that should be listed. I cannot manipulate the order of the original items ie, filters because this data is being used to derive other formulas. There are some valid datas in the cells A2 Eg. Data validation is used in cell K2 to limit it to a set of values. Can we implement this formula? } Thanks in advance... Today I ran into an odd problem. I typed in values for column A rows 1 through 10 then values for column B rows 1 through 10. The math was correct it showed 542 in the C1 cell. So I dragged that formula down and it showed 542 in all column C cells which is not correct. And when I went to check to see if the formula was correctly dragged it was. But it gets even more weird. When I click on the Column C cells and then it shows the formula up top in the formula bar and if I put my cursor anywhere in the formula bar and hit Return the formula does not change however the correct value then appears in the Column C cell. It is like the act of putting the cursor in the formula activates it to work properly but until it is activated that C cell shows the value of the cell which it was dragged down from. This is quite bizarre. Has anyone ever seen this before? I have no idea what is going on. I ran a scan for viruses and none were found. Thanks for any tips on this. Hey I have three columns containing last name values from 3 different sources that I've brought into one sheet. I am trying to find a way to compare all three values to establish if they are the same. Of the three values there is no master, Each value may be different. Thanks Hello, I am new to using Excel and I am not very computer literate. I am looking for some help with a spreadsheet I am making. Here is the problem: I have a column of 14 numbers in cells A1 to A14. I have got a formula that works for a single cell but I can't figure out how to get it to apply to more than one cell. Thanks, Randy I have an excel worksheet that adds two other worksheets in a data triangle. The cells still contain the result of the old formula referring to the previous worksheets. The only way I can get the formula to return the correct result is to edit F2 each cell and press enter. Calc now F9 does nothing. I've seen this before, but this time, I need to calculate many thousands of cells and don't have time for this workaround. Don S Hello, what I would like to do is take a portion of a sheet..... So the cells I want to mirror are in the proposal sheet cells B32 x F51. And then mirror the exact duplicate copy to another sheet. The other sheet should have those same values at A20 X G39. A:D,4,FALSE The formula returns the correct result, which in this case is a number - 2 When I fill down my range, the formula copies correctly, but every result is the same. However, if I go to the next cell down G3 and activate it by pressing F2, and then hit Enter, the result changes and is now correct. Any ideas whats going wrong? I have entered a vlookup formula in a cell and it returns the correct value from the other worksheet. However when I copy the formula down it keeps returning the exact same value as the first cell. If I enter a formula in each individual cell it returns the correct value. Its driving me crazy! I woyld be glad of any advice Many Thanks Karamazov.
